Founded by brothers Adolf & Rudolf Dassler in 1929 as the Dassler Brothers Shoe Factory. They quickly made a mark in the athletic footwear industry with their developments in spiked footwear for runners.
It was famously named adidas (with a lower case 'a') after Rudolf left the company over a breakdown in his relationship with his brother. Who subsequently went on to found Puma. Since then the brand with the 3-stripes has grown into one of the biggest streetwear companies on the planet.
